Amazon Launches Xbox LIVE Arcade Games Section!

Amazon Begins Selling Xbox LIVE Arcade Games!

Online retailer Amazon has just launched the Xbox LIVE Section on their web site where you can purchase subscriptions, points cards, and for the first time ever, Xbox LIVE Arcade games.

Here is how it works:

You will be able to get your Xbox LIVE online game code immediately after purchase. Enter your code through either your Xbox 360 console or Xbox.com and enjoy. You can also gift your online game code after purchase via e-mail.

As you will see, you purchase the games based on a dollar value (versus Microsoft points). This is actually a nice way to browse some of the Xbox LIVE Arcade catelog, as you can see user reviews/etc... Looks like digital distribution is moving full speed ahead!

Xbox LIVE Gold Account Price Drop Coming?

PRICE DROPS ARE GOOD...

With the rolling $29.99 12 Month Xbox LIVE card deals going on over the last few weeks, one had to wonder if an Xbox LIVE Gold account price drop was in the works...

While not officially announced by Microsoft, it appears that a drop to $39.99 (from $49.99) is apparently coming soon.

You can find the new price mentioned on the Xbox web site here...

Don't let your Xbox LIVE account auto-renew at the $49.99 price. If you are a Costco member, they are available in-store for $29.99. Otherwise, you can grab one from Amazon for $38.99 w/ free shipping.

Xbox LIVE Arcade Update for Feb. 4, 2009

R-Type Dimensions is available for download starting today on Xbox LIVE Arcade. This updated version has both arcade classics R-Type and R-Type II overhauled with new 3-D graphics, but offers the ability to switch back to the original 2-D mode.

The game supports full co-op support locally and over Xbox LIVE as well, and will set you back 1200 Microsoft Points for the full game.
